Our accessibility goal

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our internal accessibility target. This is a continuing improvement goal, not a claim that every page currently conforms to every success criterion.

Measures built into this site

The rebuilt site uses semantic headings and landmarks, a skip link, keyboard-operable navigation and controls, descriptive text alternatives for informative images, captions and headers for data tables, visible focus styles, text labels that do not depend on colour alone, and useful content when JavaScript is unavailable.

Layouts are designed to reflow on smaller screens and allow browser zoom. Wide data tables can receive keyboard focus so they can be scrolled without a pointing device.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site is difficult to use, email [email protected] with “accessibility” in the subject line. If possible, include the page address, what you were trying to do, what went wrong, and the browser or assistive technology involved. Disability or medical details are not required.

We review accessibility reports and will work to correct confirmed barriers. If a page cannot be fixed immediately, we will try to provide the information in a reasonable alternative format.

Third-party destinations

Articles may link to retailer, manufacturer, video, or reference websites that we do not control. Their accessibility can differ from ours. Please report a link that prevents access to information needed to use one of our guides so we can consider an accessible source or alternative explanation.

Ongoing review

Automated checks are only one part of accessibility testing. We also review representative pages with keyboard navigation, zoom and reflow, no-JavaScript operation, and assistive-technology-oriented checks. We update this page when our process or contact route changes.
